I started making knives in 2000 after completing a course with Andre Thornburn.
I make custom-designed knives, cutting the steel on a bandsaw and shaping it to customers' specifications. I then heat treat, temper the steel, and sharpen the knife before adding the preferred stabilized wood handle, and lastly, I make the leather sheath and send it to the customer.
A favourite among my customers is the Biltong Carvers and Steak Knife Sets I have a reputation for.
I have made over 600 knives in the last twenty years, sold them in South Africa, and exported some to Australia, America, Holland, and Hawaii.
As a Grandpa, I have taught my son and four grandchildren to make knives but best of all, I love my hobby and take pride in everything I do.
