GEM is headed up by Glenda Sixel who has been involved in many facets of the industry during the past 20 years. Previously a musician and part of the internationally acclaimed band CLOUT, and then JULUKA. This experience created a platform to gain sound knowledge and experience in the various facets of the industry.
Born and educated in Cape Town, Glenda’s introduction to the event and entertainment industry was through the medium of school theatre, dance and music. Glenda’s primary and initial experience is that of music which she has infiltrated into the business of Event Management.
Her career saw her travelling the world initially with the internationally acclaimed band Clout who rose to number one on the International charts with their hit “Substitute”. After Clout she then joined Johnny Clegg and Juluka and travelled extensively both locally and internationally on the concert circuit. Due to the experience in the field with both Clout and Juluka, she can access and apply essential elements necessary to stage successful events both in South Africa and internationally.
Glenda's move into the business of event management was initially on a small scale. Her attention to detail and in-depth knowledge of the industry and it's pitfalls led to her participating and promoting many large scale events which have been the foundation for her success as an events and tours organiser.
