FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Experience & style
What is your photography style? +
My style is romantic, natural, warm and honest. I love photographs that feel timeless and emotional, not overly posed. I'll gently guide you where needed, especially for portraits and family photos, but I also leave space for real moments to unfold naturally. My hope is always that your photographs feel like you.
We feel awkward in front of the camera. Will you help us? +
Absolutely. Most people feel this way at first. You don't need to know how to pose or perform for the camera. I'll gently guide you where needed and help you feel comfortable, while still keeping everything relaxed and natural. A big part of my work is creating a calm, warm space where people feel safe enough to be themselves.
Do you offer a pre-wedding or engagement session? +
Yes. Some wedding collections include a complimentary pre-wedding session. This is a relaxed photoshoot before the wedding day and a lovely way for us to get to know each other. It also helps you feel more comfortable in front of the camera before your wedding. T&Cs apply for complimentary sessions, especially where travel is required.
Do you help with the wedding timeline? +
Yes. I'm always happy to help guide you with the photography side of your timeline. Good light, enough breathing room and realistic travel time can make such a difference to how relaxed the day feels and how beautifully the story can be captured.
Do we need a second photographer? +
Not always, but it can be very helpful for larger weddings or days where lots of moments are happening in different places at the same time. A second photographer is especially useful if you both want morning preparations covered, if you have a larger guest count, or if your ceremony and reception schedule is quite full. If I feel your day would benefit from a second photographer, I'll recommend it honestly.
Can we customise our package? +
Yes, within reason. My collections are designed to cover the most common wedding day needs, but every wedding is slightly different. If you need extra hours, a second photographer, travel, or a more tailored approach, I'm happy to guide you.
Do you photograph small weddings or elopements? +
Yes. I love intimate weddings and smaller celebrations. If you're planning something smaller, please still enquire. I can guide you towards coverage that suits the pace and feeling of your day.
Can we send you a Pinterest board or inspiration images? +
Yes, you're welcome to send inspiration. I'm happy to understand the feeling, colours or atmosphere you're drawn to, but I'll never copy another photographer's work exactly. Your wedding will be photographed in my own style, with your day, light and story at the centre.
Travel & destinations
Do you travel for weddings? +
Yes, I'm based in the UK and available for weddings across Hertfordshire, Essex, London and beyond. Travel may be included depending on the package and location. If your wedding is further away, I'll clearly include any travel fees in your quote before you book.
Do you photograph destination weddings? +
Yes, I'm open to destination weddings. For weddings outside my usual area, travel, accommodation and any additional travel-related costs will be quoted clearly and agreed in advance.
On the day & logistics
Do you have insurance? +
Yes. I have professional insurance for my photography business. If your venue needs proof of insurance, please let me know in advance and I can provide the necessary details.
Do you have backup equipment? +
Yes. I take this seriously. I photograph weddings with professional equipment and have backup gear available in case of equipment issues. I also take care to back up your images properly after the wedding.
What happens if you are ill or there is an emergency? +
In the very unlikely event that I cannot photograph your wedding due to illness or a serious emergency, I would do everything I reasonably can to help arrange a trusted replacement photographer. This is also covered in my contract so that everything is clear and handled professionally.
What happens if it rains? +
We work with it. Rain does not mean your photographs are ruined. Sometimes it creates the most romantic, intimate moments. I'll help you plan around the weather where possible, look for beautiful sheltered spots, and keep the day feeling calm.
Do you take family group photos? +
Yes. I recommend keeping family group photos simple and intentional so they don't take over the day. Before the wedding, I'll ask for a list of your most important family combinations so we can move through them calmly and efficiently.
Will you visit our venue before the wedding? +
If I haven't photographed at your venue before, I'll research it carefully and arrive prepared. For some weddings, a venue visit may be helpful, but it isn't always necessary. I'm experienced in working with light, locations and timelines on the day itself.
Do you work well with videographers and other suppliers? +
Yes. I'm calm, respectful and collaborative on a wedding day. I know every supplier is there to serve you well, and I'm always happy to work alongside your planner, videographer, venue team and other suppliers to help the day flow smoothly.
Do we need to feed you on the wedding day? +
For longer wedding coverage, a supplier meal is always appreciated and helps me keep my energy up so I can continue serving you well throughout the day. This can be a simple meal and does not need to be the same as your guest meal.
