The Breezy Point Tube at Ntlonyana
Wild Coast - Breezy Tube; wild and remote with classic waves
Ntlonyane (Breezy Point) is a regional classic with an exposed point break with very reliable surf. The long, tubing right-hand point break here is comparable to Jeffrey's Bay. This spot is best surfed when the swell approaches from the south and the winds from the west or southwest. Sharks are a risk here, especially when the rivers flood in summer and during the winter Sardine Run. Port St Johns or Coffee Bay, also have great surf.
The footage below was shot at Ntlonyana by Ted in 1976. The footage showing the cattle walking in front of the cottage at 1min 40 sec is the "Pollard" cottage - home to Ross as a boy! The surfing footage is taken from directly in front of Ozone - it's the view from the deck. Facing the sea to the right of Ozone the tube opens and runs from right to left in front of Ozone then into the bay where it "beaches" - a distance of about a kilometer.
