Maropeng
The Maropeng Visitor Centre is open to the public from 09h00 to 17h00 every day.
The last boat ride departs at 16h00.
Sterkfontein Caves
The Sterkfontein Caves is open to the public from 09h00 to 17h00 every day.
The last tour departs at 16h00.
The tours at the Sterkfontein Caves, which start above ground and then take visitors deep into the caves, run every half-hour, seven days a week.

Children (4-14 years): R75
Children under 4: free
Pensioners/students: R85 (on production of a valid pensioner/student card)
Combination ticket (Maropeng and Sterkfontein Caves)
Adults: R215
Children (4-14 years): R130
Children under 4: free
Please note: the combination ticket is only available until 1pm, in order for visitors to have enough time to see both exhibitions.
The Maropeng Visitor Centre and its restaurants are all wheelchair accessible. Unfortunately, the Sterkfontein Caves is not.

Booking is essential for all group and school bookings.
Sterkfontein Caves
Adults: R140
Children (4-14 years): R80
Children under 4: free
Pensioners/students: R85 (on production of a valid pensioner/student card)
Private tours
Private tours into the caves can be arranged at a minimum fee.
The Sterkfontein Caves has introduced a minimum fee of R1 500 for groups of 20 or less wishing to book an exclusive tour of the caves.
Booking in advance is strongly advised for groups as well as individuals, as visitor numbers to the Sterkfontein Caves are limited.
For the enthusiast, tours conducted by scientists can be arranged at an additional cost.
