Inception
Cardinal Leisure was established in 2005 by Richard & Viviene Kloeck. It has been our pleasure in assisting numerous leisure travellers, groups and corporate clients fulfill their African travel wish lists.
Whether guests select a package tour or request an individually designed itinerary, we continue in "Celebrating the Exceptional".
Safaris
 Richard & Viviene Kloek - Namibia The company's humble beginnings commenced with leisure and group reservations within the South African safari lodge industry. Lukimbi Safari Lodge in the Kruger National Park and Idube Safari Lodge in the Sabi Sands Private Game Reserve were our first two safari offerings. We are proud of our achievements and association with them.
The first year demanded numerous South African lodge visits and inspections as the product portfolio expanded. It became evident early on that our guests were seeking as much adventure, variety and experiences as possible. It was a natural addition to source additional safari and adventure options in our neighbouring states. Living out of a suitcase became a finely tuned art. Yet every visit and journey revealed a new surprise – something that is gladly shared with all our clients and guests today.
Air Charter
Due to the location and distances of certain lodges from major centres, Air Charter was incorporated into the product offerings. In the early days, Cardinal Leisure was sourcing a portfolio of 8-10 seat PC-12, Caravan 208 and King Air 200 aircraft. This portfolio has grown to include various luxury jets including Citation and Lear jets, the largest of which is a Gulfstream V. Corporate jet flights commenced in 2010. Richard holds a South African Commercial Pilots License (Multi Engine) and Flight Instructor rating.
Cardinal Trains
With the ever popular city of Cape Town finding its way into most client itineraries, the decision to include luxury rail trips between Cape Town and Pretoria (or vice versa) was straight forward. Packages were introduced in 2007, with a select range of routes available. Having experienced the world class standards of both the Blue Train and Rovos Rail, it remains a service we highly recommend.
Conferences & Events
Viviene’s attention to detail and natural ability to organize and lead, has seen her successfully co-ordinate and manage numerous large corporate conferences and events. These have included conferences & events at luxury Safari Lodges, Sun City, Victoria Falls (Zambia) and Mauritius.
