Mike and Nina Collinge, the owners of Collinge & Co. Funeral Directors, have between them 28 years experience in the funeral industry. They received their training whilst in the employ of one of the large groups of funeral directors.
They felt that the modus operandi of the large funeral directors left much to desire. Because of this, they opened their own funeral home, servicing the greater Gauteng region.
Everything that is done at Collinge & Co. revolves around a few core principles, namely:
We provide a service that is devoid of any morbidity. For example, our staff uniform is a grey trouser with a navy blazer and red tie. In fact, we are often mistaken for a family member, which we accept as a compliment. Our hearses are not long black vehicles, but rather R Class Mercedes Benz's and Chrysler Voyagers, with a very discreet logo.
Following numerous requests from our families, we have opened a branch in Benoni, extending our unique standard and style of funerals. Jill Coote has been a funeral director for over 20 years, and she will assist our families on the East Rand. Please feel free give her a call, or pop in for a cup of coffee and a chat.
Collinge & Co. offers a graceful alternative to a modern hearse – their 1939 Packard hearse, which apparently appeared in the film “Cry, the Beloved Country.” This fully restored funeral coach is available for use by any family served by Collinge & Co., at no additional cost.
