She and her performance ensemble I.H.W have fast become features of the South African belly dance scene; where they are known for their style, grace and passion, alongside the daring choreographic twists and slick routines that are Amira's hallmark as a choreographer. Amira is also the founder and organizer of the Tribalation showcase, SA's first and only gathering hosted specifically for dancers in these styles. In it's fifth year, Tribalation took Tribal bellydance to the mainstream public stage for the first time, at the Johannesburg Civic Theatre. She was recently honored as RaksAfrica's January calendar girl for this contribution to the South African bellydance scene.
