ABOUT US
The Team
Rudi
The jewellery trade saw the arrival of Rudi Campbell in the late 70's when he joined a company called Transvaal Tiger's Eye, sourcing and locating coloured gemstones. He joined Gerald Francis Jewellers in 1983 as a sales assistant, planting the seed for what was to become a long and illustrious career in the trade. The two owners at the time, Roger Francis and Gerald Fearnside, noticed a passion in the young man and swiftly took him under wing.
Sheila
Sheila kicked off her career working on London's Charter House street as a rough diamond sorter. She arrived in South Africa in 1983 and joined Gerald Francis Jewellers in 1985 sparking a 23 year tenure with the company. Sheila is an admin wizz and she has been invaluable to us in keeping the business running smoothly but her talents do reach further. She is experienced in jewellery valuating and has a talented and creative eye for design.
Shelley
Believe or not, Shelley didn't start out in the jewellery trade. A Graduate of the Johannesburg College of Education with a four year diploma, Shelley started off her working life teaching primary school and, later, specialised in special ed. Rudi and Shelley were married in the early nineties and she decided to lay down her teaching tools, bode it a fond farewell and subsequently became one of the staple figures of the Gerald Francis line-up, and the reason we can proudly call our business: family run.
Elliot
A staple part of the Gerald Francis team for the past 18 years, Elliot is our resident delivery man, making sure we have a constant supply of the gold or stones needed to produce our outstanding make-ups. Elliot has been in the jewellery trade for nearly two decades and is also an accomplished polisher, producing that final dazzling shine possessed by all of our repairs and make-ups. He is also in charge of shop maintenance, keeping our working environment spic and span and running smoothly.
