WELCOME
Have you ever considered taking art classes?
Is learning to draw or paint something you have always wanted to do?
Here is your opportunity - Anyone can learn!
Our classes are
- Small - with personal attention (max 12 people)
- Customised to the group's goals and preferences
- Fun and relaxed
- Informative - we tackle 1 topic and then give plenty of time to apply the learning
- Creative - you get to experiment with different mediums
For a new class, we typically start with the basics of drawing, and move through colour theory & on to painting.
We focus on subjects that the class is interested in and each person is free to move at their own pace. Courses are open ended and ongoing and you can join the class whenever you like. All materials, refreshments and other costs are included in the monthly fees.
NEW: We are now offering Craft Classes! A Taste of Crafts will whet your appetite and introduce you to various craft techniques. Click here for more information

ABOUT MANDY
I am someone who is passionate about art and have been since my earliest memories.
I remember colouring-in competitions, many drawings and hours of fun (even scribbling on the walls when I was very little I’m told!).
When I was in primary school, one of my teachers fanned the flame and he held afternoon art club as well as encouraging me during lessons. Because of him I believed in myself and came out of my shell as I discovered there was something I could be good at. He saw the potential in me.
In high school, my art teacher inspired me and pushed me hard to fulfill my potential. It is because of those 2 teachers and their input in my life, that I am in teaching today.
After school I went to Wits University and did my BA (Fine Arts) as there was nothing else I could see myself doing. Then I did a PGCE (Post Graduate Certificate in Education) and started teaching.
I taught art at a Sandton high school for 4 years - 2 of which I was head of department.
Mandys Art has been running since 2008 and has grown in leaps and bounds since then, touching the lives of many people and allowing them a space to explore and develop their creativity. In 2011 the business moved into a custom built Art Studio in Robin Hills - with plenty of space in a comfortable and inspiring environment.
The decision to be a stay at home mom and run art classes allows me to follow my dream of building kids to their full potential – in smaller groups with more focus and attention, while building into my children's lives. I have 2 kids, Emma (born in 2009) and Darren (2011)
Thank you for taking the time to look at my website and I hope to meet you soon on one of my courses!
