Africa Nature Training was founded in South Africa in 2002 as a company dedicated to conservation and environmental training. We celebrated our tenth year of operation during 2012. We specialise in training nature guides. Our programmes focus on providing quality education for those individuals wishing to pursue a career in nature guiding and also for people who are simply passionate about nature.
We operate our full-time residential courses from our Trails Camp situated in the Sabi Sands Private Game Reserve...which, as an added bonus, forms part of the greater Kruger National Park.
Although we are not environmental activists, we strongly believe in taking the best possible care that we can of our environment...after all, it's the only one we have! At all times we strive to minimise our environmental footprint by making an effort to implement recycling practices. This is done at our camp as well as our office.
As part of our philosophy of providing quality education, our environmental training courses are aligned with the curricula set by the Field Guides Association of Southern Africa (FGASA) and the relevant unit standards of the National Qualifications Framework (NQF). Not only do our courses exceed these criteria in terms of theoretical and field content, they also contain an important conservation element. Organisations such as the Endangered Wildlife Trust and BirdLife SA endorse our products and services as having an invaluable conservation message.
We are FGASA accredited Training Providers, Accreditation no. A6346/03/TP and SAPS accredited Training Providers, Accreditation no. 1100618.
