I believe everyone has some artistic ability and with the right environment and guidance anyone can discover their inner creative genius. I have a desire to inspire an artistic future in people of all ages. I enjoy sharing my interest with others and believe learning should be fun and hope to pass on my knowledge and enthusiasm to foster the creativity of each student.
About Rembrandt
Rembrandt van Rijn was born in 1606 and is considered one of the greatest painters and printmakers in European art history and the most important in Dutch history. His drawings and paintings were popular throughout his lifetime and his reputation as an artist remained high. His painting melded the earthly and spiritual as no other painter in Western art. He was a successful portrait painter in the 1630’s. Among the more prominent characteristics of this work are his use of light and shadow and also his dramatic and lively presentation of subjects. He also had compassion for mankind irrespective of wealth and age. He was praised by his contemporaries for his skill in representing emotions and attention to detail. Because of his empathy for the human condition he has been called “one of the great prophets of civilization.”
