This COMPLETE ART ENVIRONMENT in Johannesburg started in April 2000. Under one roof you have an art gallery, art classes, art lessons and art workshops, besides art materials and framing facilities available.
Over the years we have had exhibitions with Louis Audie; Paul Botes; Angela Eidelman; Bill Hart; Eugene Hurter; Moira Mac Murray; Ina Millman; Colin Nockels; Mike Parsons; Janina Pechova; Pamela Prendini and Dulcie Robinson.
To quote owner/entrepreneur, Moira Silcock, “the idea has been to aid the public whether it is to find the right painting for the office or home, or find a gift; help the artist display their work; help the budding artist with classes or art materials, or simply provide a pleasant ambience for artists to meet over a cup of tea. The key note has been quality at affordable prices.”
She goes on to say “… to still be operating ten years later must prove we are meeting a need!”
Having opened our doors in May 2000, we have decided to retire at the end of 2013. We will continue to hold art classes and workshops during 2013. Four exciting exhibitions will be held starting in July. From January to June the Gallery will be used to show off paintings, prints and art materials for sale. Various equipment will also be on sale.
We thank all our artists and visitors for their support over the years. It has been a pleasure getting to know you all!
ART CLASSES
Weekly art classes are offered in: – oils, acrylics, watercolour, pastels and sculpture in clay.
Introductory Mixed Media Art Classes – Revann Bos,
N.T.D.F.A.,Pretoria, Accredited by Cambridge UCLES, U.K. Thorough foundation (colour wheel/tonal value/ various techniques, etc) Wednesday evenings (6:15 – 8:15 p.m.); Friday mornings (10.00 – 12.00) & Saturday mornings (10:00 – 12 )
Watercolour Classes with Leonora de Lange.
Focus on visualising, colour and techniques. Two Friday afternoons (1:30 – 4 p.m.) per month. (1st & 3rd Fridays)
Drawing Classes with Leonora de Lange.
Learn shading, form, texturing, dimensions, proportions, etc. Two Friday afternoons (1:30 – 4 p.m.) per month. (2nd & 4th Fridays).
Sculpture in Clay with Grit Cammeratt
Express your creativity through clay work and get hooked on Art! Use of teacher’s tools. Every 3 months extra about R75 for clay.Tuesday: 9:30 – 12 noon.
Artists Come Paint Together ! (No teacher)
Paint together in congenial surroundings held Thursday from 9:30 a.m. Booking essential. Get your name on the Waiting List
