Stefan Rossouw has been painting for almost 27 years, specializing in the art of classic oil.
ABOUT US
He studied the paintings from the Renaissance, baroque and romantic periods and is greatly inspired by the works of great masters such as Caravaggio, Lord Leighton and Bourgeois. His passion for the classic era shows clearly in the detail and brilliance of all his work.
With his first solo exhibition, called "Reflections", he explores the properties of light, its reflective qualities and shows how the eye is seduced by these reflections and refractions. The deeper meaning of his works is that they become mirrors of the inner self. Stefan says: “The objects we chose for ourselves and show to others, are not merely centre pieces that bloom with surrealistic beauty, but depict the start of a journey that tell us about the travels of our forbears and also the beginnings of our own life journeys.”
