Yoka Wright’s abstracts are the refinement of inspiration and years of artistic training. The clean, crisp lines and vivid colours in her South African art evoke a sense of focused calm whilst keeping the viewer’s interest dynamically involved. In all her works, the creative process is unpretentious, clearly and subtly depicted.
ABOUT ME
Being an artist, I have always been creating things for as long as I can remember.
I fell in love with beads and beading at an early age and used to spend hours down by the river on our farm, beading away. My travels around the world have enabled me to collect the most unusual and unique beads which have been collected over decades. I am particularly fond of horn and bone beads - of which you get the most exquisite ones here in Africa. Tribal beads are also a favorite as they have some much history and symbolize so much. For me, creating is what I live for.
