Nu-Song was established in 1996 by Hester de Villiers. After studying at TUKS and TUT, worked at SAB but resigned in 1994 to pursue her passion for people, music and teaching. She started teaching music at The School of Music in Polokwane but started her own music school, Nu-Song, in 1996.
The name Nu-Song was chosen because the vision was, and still is, to have a music school that is different. A music school that makes music lessons fun and promotes a love for music without compromising on the quality of education.
In 2005 Hester and Nu-Song moved to Pretoria. More students and teachers joined and at present there are 5 coaches and over 200 students who do Piano, Guitar, Bass Guitar, Drums, Drama, Singing, Public Speaking, Art lessons at the Nu-Song Studio in Pretoria East
The success of Nu-Song can be attributed to the fact that, even though there has been much growth over the years, every student is treated as an individual.
