Her artwork crosses between the mediums of painting, video and public art.
De Jager’s interest in art started while she was still in High School. She participated in various art competitions and achieved numerous awards, such as the MTN Art Colour Award and the Top Achiever Award for art, graphic art and painting from the Gauteng Department of Education (2003).
She studied towards a BTech (FA) degree at the Tshwane University of Technology (Pretoria) where she obtained distinctions in Painting and Printmaking in her final year in 2006.
De Jager has worked as Gallery Manager and assistant curator at Artspace gallery, Johannesburg (2007-2013). Projects includes; Artspace Mentorship Programme 2008 – 2012, Joburg Art Fair 2010 - 2012, Ik ben een Afrikander project 2011/2012 and has assisted with over 75 exhibitions hosted by Artspace since 2007. In December 2013 she curated the New Voices group exhibition hosted by Artspace, this exhibition was her curatorial debut after five years of engagement in the contemporary art market in South Africa.
De Jager is currently an independent art project manager and curatorial assistant for various industry professionals in South Africa. One of her recent projects includes The Art of Access webinar series with art industry leaders designed to engage questions of access to contemporary art.
