ABOUT THE ARTIST
The first to stir controversy was the ‘Dreaded Madiba’ and the most noteworthy was his critically acclaimed work titled ‘The Night Watch!’ which was exhibited at Constitution Hill.
Damaso has also produced work for several causes and social institutions including Breast Cancer Awareness and the Children’s Burn Unit (Charlotte Maxeke Public Hospital). His support has seen many communities benefit substantially.
Damaso has been profiled by the LA Times, The New York Times, Corierre De La Sera, France 24, BBC World News, CNN, German Radio, various South African TV and Radio channels as well as London based magazine Eye. He has also been featured in 3 documentaries for German TV, Wits Film and University of Tshwane Artis Film.
