ABOUT US
Art in the Forest is managed and run by well known South African ceramicist Anthony Shapiro. Anthony’s trademark bowls have been sold in stores locally and abroad. It has become a thriving centre of ceramic excellence offering ceramic classes, ceramic education, production of our Forestware range, exhibitions and workshops.
The heart of Art in the Forest is our community clay programmes for local children giving them access to creativity and self-expression. We are a social business and 100% of the profits are invested into our foundation, Light from Africa Foundation. The property was donated to the Light from Africa Foundation and is used to stimulate job creation and mentorship of artists. It is also used to provide a safe, creative space for disadvantaged children and for harnessing creativity in as many ways as possible in the clay medium.
