Born into a large pioneering family, I was raised by my artistic mother and adventurous airline pilot-farmer father, on a remote cattle ranch in the Eastern Highlands of Zimbabwe. It was during these formative years that I developed a passionate love for the African bush, and a keen interest in the indigenous people who inhabit it.
This was reinforced by a ten year period of living in Botswana, where I was fortunate to be able to explore much of the Kalahari Desert and Okavango Delta.
My interests continue to be nurtured through numerous adventures into the wilderness areas of Southern Africa, and they find expression through all facets of my art.
Further to this, my experience of living through the Rhodesian Bush War (1968 -1980), was to leave an indelible mark that has deepened my appreciation for life and the frailties of the human condition. I explore many of these issues through the multiple layers of my work.
My work falls into three distinct, yet interconnected categories; Fibre Art, Landscape Painting and Teaching.
