Dylan Lewis was born in Johannesburg, South Africa. He studied Art at the Cape Technicon, Cape Town, South Africa. Four years taxidermy and museum display art at Rondevlei Nature Reserve, Cape Town.
And in 1989, he studied painting under Ryno Swart, Ruth Prowse School of Art, Cape Town.
In 1993, moved to farm and built own studio and bronze foundry.
