The Ithuba Arts Fund launches upcoming artists into the professional world of visual arts. It’s an opportunity for new faces and new work in Joburg to be supported, developed, promoted and finally showcased in a group exhibition.Artists are selected based on a call for submissions each year.
This year, Ithuba has a brand new gallery at 100 Juta Str in Braamfontein, where work by past, current and future Ithuba artists can be housed. The space hopes to be an accessible resource for emerging artists in the city.
Ithuba has given financial, marketing and logistical support to 11 artists in Joburg since 2011. It is made possible by the Citiq Group and Jika Properties.The 2012 project is also supported by BASA.
