The first halaal outlet opened in 1999 in Fordsburg. Since then the Halaal franchises have expanded with 3 restaurants in Gauteng, 4 in KZN and 1 in Cape Town. Franchises planned for 2012 are Newcastle and Moses Mabida Stadium in Durban
Aneez Amod, who heads up the halaal division within the group has been involved in the food/franchise industry for last 28 years. He has extensive knowledge in the franchised food operations and particularly in the Halaal sector. He has been with the Jimmy’s Killer Prawns group since 1999.
The Halaal outlets within the Jimmy’s brand have been very successful and the fact that we are halaal has not in any way affected members from other religious groups from dining at our restaurants.
