Growing up, I always wanted a Daxie. But being of above average height, my mom used to say that I would look silly with a Daxie by my side!
However, while working in the USA, I got my first Daxie, Polo. He was a chocolate dapple boy.
When I came back to South Africa in 2004, I founded Von Zioli Kennels. I am married to Sias Grobler, a farmer. We live on the farm, Oranje, in the Southern Free State. We farm primarily with Merino sheep and Nguni Cattle, plains game and my beloved American Saddlebred Horses, which I show.
We have two children, Zionne and Renier. They function as my main “puppy-socialisers”. They love every litter and in every litter they both pick their favorite each. I am very blessed to have them.
Since the Daxies aren’t exactly vicious fighting dogs, I have two Irish Wolfhounds for protection. Vixen is my new baby in training, but already shows wonderful wolfhound traits!
We love our daxies and they are all raised as part of my home and family.
P.s. I am proud to say that my mother is now a Daxie-owner as well!!!
