Amazona is a widely respected endangered parrot breeding facility owned and managed by William Horsfield. The facility is located just outside Durban on the east coast of South Africa.
Since its establishment in 1992 the Amazona farm has grown and developed into a fully-functional breeding facility for an impressive collection of birds.
The primary focus of the operation is the keeping and breeding of some of the rare and more demanding species of psittacines although select waterfowl, indigenous species of Southern African Crane (Wattled, Blue and Crowned) and groups of small endemic antelope are also bred on the premises.
As a commercial parrot breeding facility Amazona is run strictly as a business but we never lose sight of the fact that we have the priviledge of working with small and highly sensitive animals. It is for this reason that the wellbeing and optimal health of the birds at Amazona is never compromised. We pride ourselves on running a highly professional and successful parrot breeding facility.
We welcome you to the Amazona website and hope you find the site both interesting and informative.
