Our 15 years of wonderful experience with Saint Bernards, culminated in the registration of the Swalena Kennel with KUSA in 2008.
One of our priorities in our breeding dogs is a very sound temperament with no aggression. Therefore all our dogs go for training at a training school where they are also qualified to do Problem Solving, Behaviour Management & Modification. They help us evaluate the dogs & benefit us greatly in choosing breeding stock. They also have trained us how to best deal with each dog's individual temperament.
Another of our priorities is that our dogs are of the large type with a solid build - so remaining within the breed standard.
The Saint Bernard is an alert, natural guard dog. However, they have a caring nature (by history they are lifesavers!) and are fantastic dogs with children and their own family. Please build a pool for your Saints to enjoy... and be prepared for a good amount of digging!
