How do we diagnose?
Diagnoses are made after a clinical history, conventional physical examination and if necessary special investigations (blood results, imagery such as X-rays, Ultrasound, CT scan).
Does Homeopathic Medicine have side effects?
Generally Homeopathic Medicines are safe to use when prescribed by a registered Homeopathic Practitioner. It is best to discuss any change in your symptoms with your practitioner.
What is the difference between Homeopathic and Herbal Medicines?
Herbal medicines are exclusively sourced from plant materials. Herbal medicines are undiluted tinctures with a strong smell and taste.
Homeopathic medicines can be sourced from plants, mineral and animal products. Homeopathic medicines are diluted, succussed substances. These medicines come in different forms (pillules, granules and in a low percentage alcohol liquid drops).
It is believed that Herbal Medicines cause a physiological action in the body as does conventional medication. The precise scientific mode of action that Homeopathic Medication has on the human body is still being researched. We can describe it as eliciting a change in the body, stimulating the immune system to effect a cure.
Does “Natural” mean Safe?
Herbal and Homeopathic Medicines are sourced naturally. This does not mean that they are safe to use. Overdosing with these natural medicines can be as dangerous as with conventional medicines and thus such medication should be kept out of reach of children. As with allopathic medication, Herbal and Homeoapthic medicine should exclusively be taken on recommendation from your healthcare practitioner.
