Engine Protector
An effective driver assistance system to prevent engine damage before it occurs.
Engine block temperature
Oil pressure
Coolant level
A display panel on dash board indicates the status of the water level, engine temperature and oil pressure.
When the engine is started all 3 parameters are checked. If everything is in order, the Green (OK) light on the display will light up and the driver can proceed.
If any parameter is not serviceable, an alarm will sound, the display will indicate where the problem is, example water level, and the engine will be shut down. When the problem is corrected the Engine Protector will automatically reset and the engine can be started.
If any one of the 3 parameters develops a problem while the engine is running, the following will happen:
WATER LEVEL: The Engine Protector has an independant water level sensor. If the water level is too low, the Green (OK) light will turn off, the WATER LEVEL light will turn on, and the alarm will sound. After 60 seconds the alarm sound will change into a more serious note for 15 seconds and then the engine will be shut down. This allows sufficient time for the driver to find a parking place, yet it is short enough to prevent engine damage. When the water is filled, the Engine Protector will automatically reset and the engine can be started.
ENGINE TEMPERATURE: The engine BLOCK temperature is continuously monitored with an advanced sensor which bolts on to the engine block. The advantage above conventional systems which monitor the water temperature, is that it detects changes in temperature much faster and can react much quicker. Even if the water is lost due to a burst water pipe it will detect the increase in block temperature and respond. When the temperature rises above normal, the alarm will sound and the ENGINE TEMP light on the display panel will light up. The driver should now stop the vehicle and investigate the problem. If the driver ignores the warning and the temperature continuous to rise, the alarm sound will change to a more serious note and the engine will be shut down. When the engine has cooled off to normal, the Engine Protector will reset automatically and the engine can be restarted.
OIL PRESSURE: Oil pressure is critical as damage can occur very quickly. Therefore the engine will be shut down in 5 seconds from the moment when the oil pressure drops below a set minimum level. The OIL light will light up on the display panel.
OTHER ADVANTAGES:
Engine shut down events are stored in memory, to be recalled afterwards.
Digital outputs to external devices, such as fleet management systems.
Are you considering an excellent fleet management and tracking system, or have you perhaps walked the very costly road of being disappointed in one or more tracking/ fleet management products? Did they deliver as advertised?
Are your vehicles driven by people who are often not serious about the interests of your company? I am talking about vehicle abuse, cowboy driving and vehicle neglect.
