ABOUT US
In 1972, two Pretoria pilots, Fanie Haacke and Abe Sher, identified the ideal site for an airport. At that moment, Lanseria International Airport was born. In time, the airport would play a vital role in South Africa’s aviation industry.
Considered issues such as the airport's location in relation to residential areas, land suited to long runways with good approaches, identification of smog and fog-free zones and a site in open surrounds in case of forced landings, were instrumental in ensuring Lanseria's enduring success.
Lanseria International Airport is one of South Africa’s success stories. From its beginning thirty years ago as an airfield located in a rural area, to the high level of service offered to the international aviation industry that it is today, it has played a major role in the South African aviation industry.
Lanseria International Airport offers a host of charter services as well as both domestic and international flights from recognised airways. It is close to the business hub of Sandton and is less than 50km from the major centres of Johannesburg and Pretoria.
From our VIP lounges to our excellent safety record, just one stopover at Lanseria International Airport is all it takes to see why we continue to remain the businessman's airport of first choice.
