There is so much more to wedding videography than the simply documenting of proceedings. There is the care in tying the bow that holds the rings to the pillow. A special sentiment carved on the inside of a ring. The precision in the placing of each cutlery item on the beautifully set table and the slight tremble of the bride’s lip as her father takes her arm at the entrance of the chapel… As a videographer you film details, you film people dear to the couple’s hearts, you film a dance, a kiss, but most of all, you film emotion.
In the past 10 years that I have been working in the wedding industry the flavour has changed many times, but flavours fade and with time become outdated. It is exactly for this reason that married couples tend to watch their wedding video about a hundred times in the first year, maybe about 10 times in the next and probably never again after that. My goal has always been to create a wedding film that even your children will be proud to watch when it becomes their turn to walk down the aisle. To create a piece that is truly… timeless.
The only element that can achieve this is the one element that is not confined to an era or style and this is … emotion. It is the truest form of expression, the very reason the guests arrive and the bride and groom says I do and therefore my main focus on the day. So much so that it is even the slogan of Quake “We don’t remember days, we remember moments”
