A Cosmopolitan is elegant, extravagant and sexy. It is the delicious combination of vodka, orange liqueur, cranberry juice and fresh lime. Not to forget the important garnish of the orange peel to make it perfect. Creating a unique cocktail is similar to organizing a unique event – you need to make all parts work together perfectly and take care of all details in order to get the perfect result.You need the right combination of ingredients (suppliers), creativity, fresh ideas and a dash of professionalism.
Some people might say I am an European cocktail myself. As my family has Austrian, French, Italian and Spanish roots I grew up very cosmopolitan. And that’s where the name comes from! Well, and I love the cocktail!
Studying five languages at school, I wanted to go out and discover the world and make use of my skills. As soon as I turned 18 I moved to Germany to study PR, Marketing and Communications, while I was working as a bar tender. During varsity I went to France for a month to work as a receptionist and afterwards I came back for an internship as a PR Assistant for a fashion accessory designer in Berlin. After this experience I went to Switzerland to start as a Marketing Assistant for Strellson, a huge fashion company that has offices all over the world.
Having gained my first work experiences, I decided to take off 6 months to travel around the world before I would take on a new job. My first adventure started in Sri Lanka, where I met this one special South African.
So I travelled to Johannesburg to see him again and we had 12 amazing days together. After finishing my world trip to Hawaii, San Francisco, Monaco and many other stunning places, I moved to South Africa in August 2011. Pretty soon, it was obvious that this was going to be serious and I applied for my visa and started working for a jewellery designer as the PR and Marketing lady. Part of this job was planning various events, from product launches to VIP events to AIDS Galas with various celebrities. Meeting so many new people and organizing functions became my passion and I studied for my Diploma in Wedding Planning while building up a great network of suppliers.
