Nestling in the tranquil countryside of Roodepoort, west of Johannesburg, lies one of South Africa's most challenging Championship Golf Courses, Ruimsig Country Club. Designed by Ron Kirby and Gary Player, the Country Club opened its doors on what was previously the original Ruimsig farm, in 1986. For a number of years the old Ruimsig farmhouse was used as the clubhouse until, in 1989, the existing new clubhouse was completed and opened. The structure is both visually striking and extremely functional: incorporating several levels, it features large verandahs and patio areas, the aesthetic of a modern, rambling farmhouse having been retained. It is situated on the southern edge of the property, with wonderful views to the north over the golf course.
Besides being one of the finest golf courses in Gauteng, Ruimsig Country Club accommodates several multifunctional venues that can host up to 350 guests. Any type of event can be catered for whether you're hosting a corporate dinner, wedding, 21st birthday, high school farewell, product launch, cocktail function or breakfast.
Ruimsig Country Club is conveniently located on Hendrik Potgieter Road in Ruimsig, between Clearwater Shopping mall and Cradlestone Mall. The Roodepoort Athletics Stadium is 2km away, while Roodepoort Botanical Gardens are 5 minutes down the road.
