My philosophy: I received my first camera (a Polaroid) at the age of 11 and have never been without one since. I entered the world of commercial photography in 1997 when I charged a client for the first time for doing a wedding. This passion for photography stems from a deep-rooted philosophy: the need to leave a legacy, a footprint, some proof that I walked this earth and made a difference in the short time allotted to me.
My “knowledge” of my heritage is based on the stories my parents and their parents have told us as kids and then those faded, black-framed sepia photos on the wall in my Grandma’s passage of gentlemen with top hats and canes, and ladies in their hooped dresses. I would have been a much poorer human being were it not for those photos. Therefore it has become my passion to capture those rare moments in our lives, those milestones, those things and places to remember. We can always page through those photo books or browse the Facebook albums and recall some of the joy, surprise, awe, or even sadness that we experienced at the time those photos were taken. Ultimately, when we depart, the photographic record that remains behind is a fundamental part of the legacy that we leave to our children and grandchildren to remember us by.
My mission: It is my mission in life to capture those special moments that you hold dear, whether they mean nothing to anyone else or whether they are front-page-news. It is a journey, a relationship that exists between you and your photographer: whether it be your engagement, your wedding, your baby’s christening, his first “seaman’s” outfit, her first dress, her first tooth, his first tricycle, her first day at school, him being a mushroom is the school play, her receiving an academic award, him playing soccer, rugby, hockey, her dancing, horse-riding, doing karate, her matric farewell, his bike race at Zwartskops raceway, her SCUBA diving trip, his university graduation. What about those special moments that you share with your friend, your partner, your wife, your husband, your child, your children? There are so many precious moments that slip us by. I am here to help you capture at least some of them.
Feel free to contact us so that we can determine whether there is any value we may add to your and your dear ones’ lives, whether we may help you leave a legacy that is personalized, uniquely *you*.
