Peter Jander prominent South African Impressionist Artist. Master painter of colour and light. Fine art artist.
ABOUT ME
Peter is one of South Africa's most renowned Impressionists, although he modestly prefers to be known as a "landscape painter."
Peter Jander was born in 1954, he grew up in Newlands, Cape Town. He was educated at SACS and after a short career as a physical trainer he became a full time artist in 1980.
With the exception of lessons with the highly acclaimed artist, Arthur Mant, on colour mixing methods, he is essentially a self-taught painter. Peter has been significantly influenced by the great Impressionists of the past, however he has taken his version of impressionism onto an entirely new level and in keeping with the 21st Century. He possesses that skilful ability to capture the mood and atmosphere of a specific moment.
