Ros Walters is an oil painter and prefers figure painting, and always strives to imbue her work with a mood that is uniquely her own.
ABOUT US
Ros Walters was born in England in 1945. Her earliest memories are of her grandmother’s home in Sussex set among the bluebells, woods, fields and hedgerows of Southern England. At an early age, her parents moved to South Africa and she grew up surrounded by the shady green gardens and warm sunlight of Kloof in, KZN.
Putting aside two decades of floral, she discovered local artist and teacher Ryno Swart. Under his guidance, Ros built a solid foundation in the tradition of the Old Masters, relearning the fundamentals of drawing, tone and colour. The enthusiasm for oil painting was infectious and she began to paint many hours each day, practicing her new pallet of ideas and understandings of oils. Gradually she developed a style that combines tone and colour into a signature romantic expression.
