Wendy du Plessis is a South African artist who paints animals and wildlife.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
I was born in Cape Town and live on a smallholding +_ 35 minutes from the Mother City with my family, inlcuding 5 horses, 2 great danes, a daschund and a cat.
I have been riding horses for many years and have competed in Dressage, showing, have hunted and played polocrosse.
My father's love of art rubbed off on me and I have been painting since an early age and sold my first commission in 1973. I am completelly self-taught and started painting in oils, then went on to pastels which I find perfect for painting animals.
My love of the bush and wildlife inspired me to start painting wildlife and especially lions.
