I was born in Port Elizabeth, South Africa, where I developed an interest in drawing from an early age.
I use the mediums of acrylic, oils and pastels, though, predominantly, I paint in acrylics.
I have been painting for decades. Along the way, in 1981, I was introduced to the work of a great wilderness artist of the modern era. It was a Damascene experience for me. His excellence inspired me greatly, and crystallized a vision which I nurtured and developed ever since. On a fundamental level and without doubt, painting is my life’s work. I have also come to know the work of other great natural expressionists who have all become my teachers over time, in conjunction with our mother, the Earth. They are great because they are honest, productive and all exude a divergence of technique though a unique expression of their creativity. We must all walk the walk and come to know the silence.
