I originally trained in graphic art which instilled a real sense of discipline in me.
In recent years I have had training in fine art which has allowed me freedom to enjoy each subject for its beauty and enabled me to capture its soul. I focused on watercolours for a number of years making a name for myself with minutely detailed paintings that have become a sought after range of greeting cards. In recent years oils have become my primary focus.
I portray various subjects capturing all aspects of the human condition from the poignancy of love and hope against the backdrop of extreme poverty, to the unadulterated joy of an innocent child .I’m a perfectionist, and a passionate artist who values the subtle nuances a few brush strokes can bring to a painting.
My studio is situated at the foot of Table Mountain, South Africa, I am a portrait artist with clients from all over the globe.
My commission work is done from a first sitting and study of the person and completed from photos, or if a sitting is not possible, as for a surprise present, from photographs alone.
