ENTO Ceramics was established in 2003 by Dr Tanza Crouch, artist and professional entomologist (someone who studies and applies their knowledge of insects).
The beauty of bugs and their extraordinary diversity provide never-ending inspiration for patterns and design in art. We share the Earth with these creatures and need each other for our long-term survival. As a reminder, ENTO Ceramics strives to bring nature into your home, through durable images on porcelain and china. We use both local and imported ceramics (Maxwell & Williams) as a base. The designs are silk-screened in on-glazes so you can take pleasure, daily, in using these products. They are dishwasher and microwave safe.
Each ceramic item is unique - Tanza and Nomanesi Mboyisa, her studio assistant, arrange designs by hand, ensuring that no two pieces are exactly alike. They work from her studio in an indigenous garden in the leafy suburb of Kloof, KwaZulu-Natal.
