Tender Love and Care
The feel good factor that is as much a part of Junipa’s as its melt-in-the-mouth menu comes from the fact that this establishment has evolved under the tender love and care of co-owners, and husband and wife team, Julian and Andrea Platt. A happy coincidence in 1997 saw Julian take the decision to bake his own biscuits for a Sunday afternoon tea with friends. It wasn’t long before orders started flowing in for the delicious chocolate chip cookies created on that auspicious day, and so it was that Junipa’s was born.
“Today, Junipa’s has grown well beyond its humble beginnings in our industrious home kitchen, and has doubled in size many times over in the 14 years since its inception. Having moved from biscuits to becoming a fully-fledged wholesale bakery supplying large coffee chains and certain local airlines, the Junipa’s of today is a beautiful all-day bistro and café, artisan bakery and coffee roaster that simply beckons visitors to step inside,” says Julian Platt.
