About US
Animals in Distress is a dynamic society offering a unique approach to animal welfare.
Since our establishment in 1958, we have endeavoured to protect and treat animals in need and to educate and empower others to do the same. Small and large domestic animals belonging to people from eight informal settlements in Gauteng and Tshwane, who would otherwise not receive professional veterinary services, are cared for with love, skill and endless patience.
