Dr. Katharina Ott-Jayes is a Doctor of Veterinary Science and has been a proud owner of pedigreed Rhodesian Ridgebacks for over ten years.
Lionland is a K.U.S.A. registered breeder of Rhodesian Ridgebacks. All dogs are vaccinated, dewormed and x-rayed, and undergo behavioural testing.
It all started when Kate imported her first Ridgeback, Pacquita, into Germany from Swellendam in the Western Cape. Pacquita, a female went on to compete in Germany very successfully and when Kate decided to return to South Africa perminantly, so did Pacquita, along with her other pets.
Being a vet, Kate has a love of animals, and as a breeder she aims to establish and maintain quality bloodlines.
She had a long and close friendship with the late Yvonne Du Preez, who was an icon in the Rhodesian Ridgeback community. They had a working relationship and her present females are from Yvonne’s stock.
More than that, her love of animals in general, and Rhodesian Ridgebacks in particular, leads her to find quality owners and homes for all offspring.
