Beitshemesh means House of Sun in Hebrew and is a play on the first three letters of my surname- Sundelowitz. This was one in honour of my father who mostly incorporated this part of the family surname into the names od buildings or companies of his.
Beitshemesh isn't a new kennel per se- I started off with Belgian Sheperd Groenendaels/Sheepdogs and then Pembroke Corgis. After a fairly long break from the sport- and with extensive preparation and research- I was inspired to return to 'dogs' when the Thompson's imported the first three Cardigans into SA in October 2007. Cardigans were always a breed that I had wanted but there were none in the country when I was looking for a smaller breed in "the old days". Cardis are a breed I believe I was always meant to have.
My aim is to promote this fantastic new breed in South Africa and to maintain and enhance the quality of the bloodlines that we have in here at the moment.
