Lolita was established in Punta del Este, Uruguay in 1960.
In 1986 the company shifted from its traditional profile as domestic manufacturer into an import and whole sale business of textile garments imported from USA, Chile, Brazil, etc.
In 1996, it became the first Uruguayan boutique to launch a website.
In 2001, Lolita started its international expansion under an original franchise system. The brand is recognized by its defining features: Quality, Value and design.
By the end of 2002, Lolita's CEO, Michel Cohen was selected by the "NGO" Endeavor as an "Endeavor Selected Entrepreneur".
This enabled Lolita to receive advice from MBA students from prestigious American Universities such as MIT, Wharton and Columbia. The business magazine "America Economia" awarded Mr. Michel Cohen, with the "Excellence 2004" award for his international growth strategies.
In May 2008, Lolita's case was published by the Columbia University of New York.
Lolita and the Fashion Institute of Technology of New York are currently planning Lolita's entrance in to the North American marketplace.
