Established in 1985 by Marguerite Mavros Macdonald with an aim to provide exciting and innovative decorative fabrics to the growing Interior Design trade in South Africa, MAVROMAC soon forged strong relationships with prestigious International Brands and put the name MAVROMAC firmly at the forefront of Southern African Fabric Brands. Today MAVROMAC is co-owned by Hanneke Swart and Marguerite Mavros Macdonald and proudly represents the leading luxury brands from all over the world: De le Cuona, Colefax and Fowler, Pierre Frey, Manuel Canovas, Donghia, Rubelli, Dominique Kieffer, Lelievre, Lorca, Larsen, Jane Churchill and Nobilis among others.
After becoming established with the International brands, it became clear that there was a need in the local market for strong, design-conscious ranges of locally-stocked fabrics to complement the fabulous luxury houses. With the distinctive MAVROMAC style the company launched their in-house, locally-stocked brand MAVROMAC SOUTH, which now leads the field for high-end style and quality at competitive prices. The signature style has wide appeal and the MAVROMAC SOUTH brand has an enthusiastic following both in South Africa and abroad.
