Herman & Susan Berry started 5th Avenue Gooseberry in 1998. The name ‘Gooseberry’ is a combination of Susan’s maiden name, Goosen, and their surname, Berry. The Guest House has 11 rooms, each with their own character and decorated by Susan. All art has been done by Susan and many a painting has travelled wide and far under the arms of guests.
