Whether for business or leisure, our accomodation at Fern Glen has something to meet you or your family's needs. We have 6 self-catering units situated on a spacious one acre stand, boasting lovely gardens. This area was a bird sanctuary many years ago and so has an abundance of birdlife. The rich foliage of the trees creates a natural sound buffer which results in a peaceful and quiet environment where you can still hear the bird calls. There is a small swimming pool which is great during the hot months.
The N1 highway is easily accessible and both the Olivedale and Sandton clinincs are 5 minutes away. We have the Ferndale Village Shopping centre 500m away plus 4 large malls within a 10km radius. There are several churches and sports centres and golf courses nearby. The Dome and Sandton Convention Centre are within easy reach.
In 1995 we welcomed our first guests. They were French speaking and enjoyed the quite peaceful atmosphere while we enjoyed serving them. Philip and Grace together with 2 other couples, Alister and June Mac Donald and Iain and Crystal Greenwood purchased the one acre property and renovated it into a self-catering establishment. In 2007 Iain and Crystal retired to the coast. Initially the gardens needed much care until today where it is well established and a pleasant and peaceful setting in which to relax. The gardens are largely indigenous, attracting much birdlife. Ongoing upgrading and maintenance to buildings has taken place over the years to keep a high standard of accommodation, ensuring each guest a beautiful comfortable safe haven. We are graded by Tourism Grading Council of South Africa as a 3 Star establishment.
