We are not ‘on the beach’ but only a short 20-minute drive from Kosi Bay Mouth. Our aim is to provide our guests with a comfortable, friendly environment that will enhance their visit to the area.
Located in one of the most remote areas of South Africa, Kosi Bay allows the discerning, nature-conscious guest access to vast areas of unspoilt bush. In addition, the stunning undeveloped beaches, lakes, game parks and cultural heritage only add to the mystique and beauty of this unique part of South Africa.
Kosi Bay Nature Reserve system comprises a four lake dune fringed lake and estuary system that runs parallel with the ocean. Salinity ranges from a fresh water lake ~ Amanzimnyama ~ where the largest indigenous forest of raffia palms occur, to the warm, clear Indian Ocean 12 Km away. The Kosi Bay lake system is surrounded by coastal sand forest, offering some of the most beautiful and tranquil walks imaginable. The local beaches in the area stretch from Kosi Bay Mouth (where the estuary system exits to the Indian Ocean), to Lala Nek and southward to Manzengwenya and Mabibi. With the absence of any commercial development these beaches will astound any visitor with their pure natural beauty and warm tropical waters.
