Henry Francis (Hamish) Fynn
Head of School: Business Studies and Fleet Management
Hamish joined Lyceum College as Head of School in 2010 with more than thirty years experience in training, teaching and lecturing in chemistry and education.
Over the past ten years, Hamish has worked extensively in the SAQA/SETA/HEQC environment and is a registered assessor and moderator for a wide range of SETAs. He is experienced in the development of qualifications and the writing of learning materials.
Hamish holds B.Sc and B.Ed (post graduate) degrees from the University of Natal as well as a Masters degree in Business Leadership from UNISA, and in Chemistry and Education from the University of York (UK).
Reon van der Westhuizen
Assessment Manager
Reon served as a commissioned operational officer in the Internal Stability and Operational Response Division of the South African Police Services. He has more than 10 years of experience in the South African Police training and development environment and served as the Head of Specialised Training at the Crime Combating Unit in Pretoria.
He represented the Operational Response Service Training Division on National and International level, and has extensive experience in Crowd Management, High Risk Tactics and Crime Combating Operations.
He was appointed as Senior Lecturer for the School of Public Safety at Lyceum College in 2009 and took up the position of Assessment Manager at Lyceum College in 2011. He is still involved in an academic capacity and is currently furthering his postgraduate studies in Law.
Andre Roets
Head of School: Public Safety Studies.
Andre has 22 years of experience in the field of Traffic and Metropolitan Policing, and 13 years of lecturing experience in the same field. When he joined Lyceum in 2007, he held the rank of Chief Superintendent.
His qualifications include a National Diploma in Traffic Science, a Bachelors degree in Police Science, and an Honours degree in Police Science, which was obtained with distinction. He has also completed numerous short courses.
Benjamin van Rooyen
Academic Manager
Benjamin van Rooyen has a Postgraduate qualification and is an Alumnus of Lyceum College. He has also studied at the University of North Florida in the USA, and is an expert in crash reconstruction. He has more than 15 years of experience in the Higher Education landscape and has successfully launched many new and exciting programs in the fields of training in which Lyceum excels.
He leads a team of more than 80 highly experienced academics, who have been hand-picked for their expertise and knowledge in their fields of specialisation. Bennie believes that students deserve the best possible service, and he will go to great lengths to ensure that this philosophy is practiced by the academic team.
Dr Andrew Moffat
Head of School: Educators
Dr Andrew Moffat has over 10 years experience in High School teaching and another 20 years experience in Higher and Further Education and Training. He has managerial experience as a Principal, Campus Manager and Head of Department at various Colleges. In the past 20 years, Dr Moffat has lectured Business Management and Education Management subjects at various institutions. Dr Moffat holds a Doctor’s Degree in Educational Psychology from UJ/RAU.
Kimberley Rowan
Quality Assurance Manager
Kimberley Rowan is the newly appointed Quality Assurance Manager. She has 7 years experience in FET Education, having taught Physical Science and Mathematics. She holds a BSC degree in Natural Sciences’. She assumes responsibility for the full spectrum of regulatory compliance.
