Anel Botha is a graduate of the North West School of Design where she walked away with the highest accolade in her year: ‘Designer of the year’.
Anel is inspired by colours, fabric, texture and is motivated to complement the perfection of our divine creator in the garments she designs.
Anel is an up-and-coming talent in the South African Fashion industry who is well respected by her fellow designers. She is well known for her red carpet designs which have been seen at major events, such as the South African Style Awards, South African Music Awards, South African Traditional Music Awards, You Spectacular Awards, Huisgenoot Tempo Awards, Vonk Awards, Lourie Awards, Huisgenoot Skouspel, Liefling Primier, Platteland Premier and Semi-Soet Premier, to name but a few.
In February 2010, Anel launched her own label and her design prowess has resulted in her winning numerous awards including Night’s Best Dressed, worn by Gugulethu Zumu, at the You Spectacular Awards, Style Icon of SA awarded to Pabi Moloi at the South African Style Awards, Most Elegant Themed Couple at the J & B Met, Most Striking Couple at the Durban July, Classic Raceday Winner at the Durban July, finalist in the You Gomma Gomma Fashion Challenge and Bridal Africa Young Designer Competitions.
One of Anel’s savoured moments was when she was asked to showcase her couture range at the 2011 You Spectacular awards amongst South Africa’s most prestigious designers.
